Individuals who are a part of the Summer Camp Staff are responsible for planning, leading and implementing recreational and creative experiences for camp attendees.
The incumbent provides high quality recreational experiences for children that focus on the YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility and caring.
*Essential Functions/Responsibilities:*
Organize and lead a variety of activities appropriate for summer camp programs.
• Ensure that the site is kept clean and organized.
• Must keep accurate head counts of the group at all times.
• Assist children in daily needs including but not limited to washing hands, using the restroom, picking up belongings, assist with snacks and packing or unpacking of belongings.
• Insure parents/guardians comply with the drop off and pick up procedures.
• Complete incident and behavior reports when needed.
\* Redirect children when needed, to help manage behavior expectations.
*Required Qualifications: *
1.
Must be at least 16 years old.
2.
CPR, First Aid, and Child Abuse Prevention training before start of 1st shift.
3.
Ability to lead, plan, organize and implement program activities.
4.
Must be able to improvise when unexpected circumstances occur.
5.
Must be able to remain active, energetic and positive throughout the program day.
*Preferred Qualifications: *
1.
Previous experience working with children.
*Physical Demands: *
Lead and participate in recreation activities which may include running, throwing and kicking.
Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Pay Rate: $10-11 an hour
Work Dates and Times: varies, operation hours 645am to 615pm
