Corporate Controller- Columbia, SC
Work Location: Columbia, SC
Job Summary
The Controller will plan and direct the accounting operations of the company working closely with and reporting to the CFO of the company.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
Produces periodic financial reports and reviews with CFO.
Ensures that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner.
Ensures that accounts receivable are collected promptly.
Ensures that payroll is processed efficiently and in a timely manner.
Works with external auditors and provides needed information for audits, including month end reports and overhead audit.
Works with auditor and prepares information for the FAR audit.
Collaborates with CFO to produce annual budget and forecasts.
Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
Assists in managing accounting staff.
Administers insurance policies.
Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Proficient in Deltek Vision software.
Proficient in accounting and tax preparation software.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Excellent management and supervisory skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration required.
Ten years or more of related experience required.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Able to travel as needed.
